Update 16/06 17:12 – A new trailer for the VR game has debuted at today’s Upload VR Showcase, which you can watch below:
Original Story – Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife is a new VR game set inside the World of Darkness universe according to user Funky Papa on Resetera.com. Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife is made by Fast Travel Games, which has also made The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets. Creative Director, Erik Odelahl Wraith says the game will focus heavily on the narrative as you make your way through the campaign. Inspired by games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Alien: Isolation we can suspect the game will have little combat but a deep, engaging story.
Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife is modelled after the White Wolf tabletop game that shares the same name. As a Wraith, you will try to solve the mystery that lies beyond the Shroud – a mystical barrier that separates the underworld from, well, everything else. Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife isn’t the only new game coming from The World of Darkness franchise. With tabletop games and the new Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the franchise is expanding faster than ever.
We don’t know many details yet on Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife. Nevertheless, we will hopefully find out more soon. Gamescom Now will be starting August 27, 2020, and we will most likely get more news there. In the meantime, we will be covering all new developments of Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife.

Erik Odeldahl, Creative Director at Fast Travel Games explains: “I am a massive fan of games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Alien: Isolation, and have always felt that the kind of narrative-driven, exploration-focused horror these titles deliver would be perfect for VR.” He continues: “To make such a game in the World of Darkness setting, specifically the rich and mystical world of Wraith: The Oblivion, is really a dream come true for me, and I cannot wait to share more details about it!”
Sean Greaney, Brand Manager for World of Darkness at Paradox Interactive, adds “Playing games in the World of Darkness story universe, whether it’s tabletop, traditional video game, or VR, lets us experience a dark, urban fantasy layered over our modern world. By assuming the perspective of a monster, we can gain a better understanding of what it truly means to be human. We’re excited to be taking our first steps from the Skinlands toward Stygia in World of Darkness version 5 in such an innovative and appropriate medium. Death is only the beginning in Wraith: The Oblivion…”
