Denise Gough, the voice talent behind Yennefer in The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, has said that she’s not sure sure if the character will return in The Witcher IV, which is currently in development at CD Projekt RED.
Speaking to Eurogamer in regards to anything she knows about the progress of the highly anticipated fantasy-RPG, Gough simply replied, “I don’t know any of this.” She also talked about her experience recording dialogue for The Witcher III, which was her first video game project.
I didn’t know what I was doing. I’d never done a video game before. And then lots of, usually men, would come up to me in sound departments on film sets, would come up and go [whispers] ‘are you Yennefer?’ And I was like ‘who’s Yennefer?’

So far the only characters confirmed for The Witcher IV are Ciri and Geralt, the former of which is going to be the main protagonist. Doug Cockle, the voice actor behind Geralt, has voiced his support for having the character of Ciri the main character in the sequel, saying he can’t wait to see what’s in store for the character. Unlike The Witcher III however, Ciri is no longer being voiced by Jo Wyatt, with Ciara Berkeley having taken over the role.
The Witcher IV was revealed during December’s The Game Awards with a cinematic trailer, and CDPR has since revealed that the game will not be released until after 2026.
