VGA 2012: Game of the Decade announced

There has been a nearly untrackable amount of games in the last decade, but the voters at the Video Game Awards chose the official Game of the Decade.
Among the ranks of best games in the last decade are Bioshock, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Red Dead Redemption, and Half-Life 2. All of those titles are daunting in their own right, and it's arguable to say that any of them deserve the award in question. However, only one comes away with the title.
The game that earned the Game of the Decade award is Half-Life 2. Our congratulations go out to the fellows at Valve for their extensive work on the sequel to a highly-acclaimed series. It's been a while since Half-Life 2 released, but the award is well-deserved.

Half Life 2 is definitely the best game among the nominees but that category also contained Wii Sports so go figure. No Uncharted, no MGS, no Gran Turismo, No Assassin's Creed II, apart from Half Life 2, Portal and Shadow of the Colossus, all the other entries shouldn't even be considered that's 7 out of 10 nominees that DON'T DESERVE to even be nominated for Game of the Decade. VGAs lost all of their credibility this year.

Yeah Game of the Decade is extremely tough to say considering within the last 10 years 2002-2012 if their counting that range.
Games like GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas are two games that come to mind maybe not better than Half-Life 2 to some people, but they were pretty big.
Kingdom Hearts 1 was another as well.
Gran Turismo 4
etc. etc etc.

half life 2 did not deserve this bioshock should have one plus these should have been nonminated

Problem is picking just one game of the decade is too tough.
Then you can't leave out games like Legend of Zelda Wind Waker, to Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry 3, Bayonetta(maybe you can), Metal Gear Solid 3,
If They said pick 10-15 games as games of the decade this wouldn't be such a problem.

I agree with the other comments on here. Most of those nominations don't make sense. But Red Dead Redemption DEFINITELY deserves to be there, i've played the game so much compared to most other games in this generation. One of the most fun and engrossing games ever made. The absense of any MGS or GTA on there is really saddening. GTA San Andreas is, to me, the pinnacle of gaming. Also Uncharted 2 should be on the list hands-down, a pioneer of cinematic gaming.
