New Assassin’s Creed Chronicles games confirmed for early 2016

The next two instalments in the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles series, which features adventures set in India and Russia, will launch in January and February 2016, publisher Ubisoft has announced.

First out the gate is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, which will be released on January 12 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. Finally, the final chapter in the spin-off series, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, will be made available for download on February 9.

In addition, Ubisoft confirmed that a trilogy pack featuring all three games (Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China being the first game released earlier this year—read our full review on the game here) will be available at retail and as a digital download on the same day as Russia’s release. The PlayStation Vita is also receiving the bundle, which will be released on April 5.

The whole Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy was originally slated to appear by the end of 2015, although that now obviously won’t happen. The last full-fledged entry in in the series, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, was released on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in October. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India takes place in 1841 and focuses on the exploits of Arbaaz Mir as he attempts to reclaim a mysterious artefact from a Templar Master, who stole the item from the Assassin Order. The game also focuses on the growing tension between Sikh Empire and the British forces of the East-India Company.

The action fast-forwards to 1918 with Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, with players controlling Nikolai Orelov as he embarks on one final mission for the Brotherhood before leaving the Assassins behind for a peaceful life with his family. Orelov’s quest takes him to a Bolshevik stronghold that houses the captured Tsar and his family, where he escapes with the Princess and a mysterious artefact. Now on the run from the Templars, the assassin must protect Anastasia at all costs while keeping the artifact from enemy hands.
