Capcom has unveiled the first screenshot of the returning healing herbs system for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
The iconic herbs have been part of Resi’s DNA since the 1996 original survival horror title, and make a comeback in this latest entry—although there might be a twist this time.
Looking at the image below, you can see that the green herbs are accompanied somewhat incongruously by a single coin, suggesting that Resi 7 may use some sort of currency system to purchase items. Capcom makes a point of mentioning the coin too, so it’s obviously got some significance.
Resident Evil 7 release date confirmed for early 2017
Capcom unveiled Resident Evil 7: Biohazard during Sony’s E3 presentation, where it confirmed the survival horror title will arrive on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. In addition, it also announced Resident Evil 7 VR support for Sony console owners as an optional way to play the game.
Set a few years after the events of Resident Evil 6, this latest chapter in the critically acclaimed horror franchise takes place in a spooky plantation mansion somewhere in the southern U.S. It’ll feature a brand new protagonist and is set from a first-person perspective—a first for a mainline Resident Evil game.
Resident Evil 7 dummy finger continues to perplex games, but is a solution in sight?
Capcom has made available a playable demo of Resident Evil 7, known as Beginning Hour, exclusively for PlayStation Plus users to download via the PlayStation Store. The teaser has been a huge success, notching up over two million downloads to date.
Aside from featuring multiple endings, the demo features a number of hidden objects to discover, perhaps the most infamous of which is the mysterious dummy finger that appears to have no discernible use yet. Capcom has hinted this will change at some point, however.
