A Reddit user has reportedly snapped the title of the next instalment in Square Enix’s rebooted Tomb Raider franchise. Is this the new Lara Croft game?
Shadow of the Tomb Raider leaked
While much of the PowerPoint presentation, which was taken on a subway train, is pretty much obscured due to the quality, the words Shadow of the Tomb Raider can clearly be seen in the upper-right corner. Naturally, people are already assuming this is the title for the as-yet unannounced third Tomb Raider title.
Adding more fuel to the fire, the user later confirmed to PowerupGaming that he was travelling for work in Montreal, Quebec, when he snapped the image, which just so happens to be located close to Eidos Montreal, the developer who worked alongside Crystal Dynamics on Rise of the Tomb Raider.
“From what I saw, the page he was on talked about visuals,” he said. “But I really couldn’t tell you more about it; that’s all I could snap.”
Square Enix revealed during Gamescom 2015 that it was working on a third Tomb Raider game, although we haven’t seen anything on the game so far beyond the above leaked title. Right now, nothing official has been confirmed as of yet about the leak, but we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is the most recent entry in the venerable action-adventure franchise, and arrived on PS4 last month following a year’s exclusivity to Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Tomb Raider launched back in 1996 and has sold over 45 million copies worldwide to date spanning multiple consoles.
