CharlieIntel is reporting that PlayStation Plus is not required to participate in the upcoming Call of Duty WW2 beta on PlayStation 4.

On the flip side, those of you who are playing on Xbox One will need to have an Xbox LIVE Gold membership to take the first-person shooter for a spin in the beta testing period.

The Call of Duty WW2 beta kicks off for PS4 pre-order customers on August 25, and allows players to test out a number of maps and game modes. You’ll also be rewarded with some in-game bonus content for participating in the beta.

Call of Duty WW2 is scheduled for release on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on November 3, 2017. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the first-person shooter takes place during the latter stages of World War II, and is the first entry in the series to be set in this period since 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War.

The campaign will feature a number of iconic battles from the Second World War, including storming the beaches at Normandy during D-Day.

In addition to the dedicated single-player campaign, the game will also support a comprehensive multiplayer mode, although there’s a few changes this time around. For starters, CoD WW drops the create-a-class system of previous games in favor of a brand new Divisions feature, which lets you pick from five different loadouts based on iconic WW2 classes.

Furthermore, other popular gameplay mechanics, such regenerating health and unlimited sprint, will also not be returning making for a more realistic experience.
