Anthem Update 1.11 Patch Notes Confirm Removal Of Elysian Caches

The Anthem update 1.11 patch notes have confirmed the removal of a key feature previously introduced for BioWare’s troubled shooter back in March. The update will roll out today at 4.00pm BST, and gives the boot to Elysian Caches.

Anthem Update 1.11 Patch Notes Revealed

It’s a curious decision, as the reward chests were only implemented in the sci-fi loot-shooter recently. In case you haven’t been keeping up, Elysian Caches act as a means of rewarding players who tackle Anthem’s Stronghold missions, as well as ticking off Daily Challenges.

Why take them out? Well, according to a post on Reddit, Elysian Caches ‘have always been planned as a temporary thing.’ Read the full patch notes here.

Anthem has had its fair share of problems since it launched on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One back in February. The game topped the UK charts upon release, although its sales failed to match those of BioWare’s previous effort, Mass Effect Andromeda.

BioWare still committed to Anthem support

The studio was quick to roll out a series of patches to help polish things up, notably update 1.0.3, which introduced various loot changes, and the Sunken Cell Stronghold-equipped update 1.10. Recently, BioWare confirmed that it had delayed a number of key additions for the game as it turns its attention to ironing out lingering bugs.

The studio recently affirmed its commitment to supporting Anthem, after a number of key team members reportedly shifted focus to the new Dragon Age game. And, while that game is obviously going to remain a key focus for BioWare, it’s obvious that Anthem isn’t going anywhere just yet.

Looking ahead, Anthem will see a number of key features added once BioWare’s finishing cleaning house with its can of bug spray. These include the Cataclysm event, Guilds, Leaderboards, Legendary Missions – Phase II, and Weekly Stronghold Challenges among other content.

Let’s just hope that BioWare manages to polish things up pretty sharpish, eh?
