References to an Assassin’s Creed Shadows multiplayer mode have unearthed in the game’s files, suggesting PvP features may be on the way at some point.
While noting official has been confirmed yet, X user Sliderv2 shared a number of discoveries from the datemine, including file names such as RED_PVP_Maps, which indicate multiplayer content. For those unaware, Red is significant as this was the internal codename for Assassin’s Creed Shadows before the game’s official title was announced.

Assassin’s Creed hasn’t seen any multiplayer elements since 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity, which allowed players to team up for co-op missions. However, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was the last game to implement proper PvP multiplayer, something which had become something of a staple since Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood (2010).
Ubisoft is believed to be working on a full multiplayer entry in the franchise known as Assassin’s Creed Invictus, although no details have been confirmed on that game at the time of writing. A Black Flag remake is also reportedly in the works alongside the previously-announced Assassin’s Creed Hexe.
