The director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has departed Ubisoft after 16 years and is now serving at EA’s Motive studio.
Eric Baptizat not only helmed last year’s epic Viking instalment in the long-running stealth-action franchise, but he also served as lead designer Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Origins. He joined EA Motive earlier in the year, where he’s working on an unannounced project.
EA Motive has already confirmed it’s working on a new action-based Star Wars title and another unannounced project, so he could be involved in either of these. Interestingly enough, the latter is rumoured to be a revival of Visceral Games’ survival horror series, Dead Space.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is now available for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, and is set to receive a new expansion, Siege of Paris, later this year. You can read our full review of the PS5 version of AC Valhalla here.
