Like Pokémon before it – albeit with more of an existentialist twist – Young Horses latest offering, Bugsnax, has a myriad of creatures to catalog and catch as you traverse the mysterious locale of Snacktooth Island. Thankfully, you’re well equipped to do so, what with a plethora of tools – ranging from the trusted Sauce Slinger to the temperamental Lunchpad – at your disposal, ready to capture all of the inhabitants in a variety of ways. This Bugsnax Capture guide will tell you how to capture every Bugsnax and complete your collection.
With eight areas and a total of 100 Bugsnak, there’s plenty to do and sometimes it’s not exactly clear how you’re supposed to catch certain creatures. As a general rule of thumb, these general tips may help you tease out some of the captures:
- Always scan each creature with your camera – this will reveal their likes/dislikes and may point out veiled clues about how to catch them.
- Analyze their temperament – if they are big and brutish they normally need to charge into another Snak, if they are small and nimble it’s likely you’ll need to set traps and hide.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment with tool combinations.
- In later areas make sure to look out for fire and water sources that may hold the key to capture.
