CD Projekt RED Says Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Team Will Likely Double In Headcount Over Next Year

The joint-CEO of CD Projekt RED has revealed that the headcount for Cyberpunk 2077 sequel Project Orion is likely to double over the next year or so.

Speaking during a studio leadership briefing earlier this week, during which company also revealed that The Witcher 4 will soon be entering full production, Michal Nowakowski said that the highly anticipated title is “close to moving from the research phase to the development phase.”

Elsewhere, the company’s chief financial officer, Piotr Nielubowicz, said the Polish developer “expect future growth also next year” with Project Orion. “And Orion that was presented on one of the slides right now, is around 60 people, and we believe over the course of next year it should probably double the headcount.”

Project Orion is still obviously many years away from release as it’s not even in production yet, although CDPR previously revealed that its development is being headed by a new team based on Boston, US. In fact, the studio has said that this move will ensure Project Orion is ‘more authentically American.’
