Bungie has revealed the full Destiny 2 2.5.0.1 update patch notes for your consumption, which kicks off a brand new chapter for the shared-world shooter in the shape of Season of Opulence. As previously reported, this new season introduces a bunch of new features, including a brand new Raid, gear, and the Menagerie, which to be honest no one really has any clue about.
Destiny 2 2.5.0.1 Update Patch Notes
A number of key weapons are getting nerfed as part of the Destiny 2.5.0.1 update, including the Whisper of the Worm, Sleeper Stimulant, and Ace of Spades.
So, what’s changed? For starters, Whisper of the Worm’s White Nail perk will only refill the magazine from reserve ammo, and no longer generates unlimited ammo. Instead, it’s now got a capacity of 18 rounds. Meanwhile, Sleeper Stimulant’s bounce damage against bosses has been reduced, while Ace of Spades can no longer two-tap when used with the One-Eyed Mask’s Vengeance perk.
Bungie has also buffed Sword ammo and increased the damage output of Fusion Rifles, making them far more appealing weapons to take into the field. Speaking of weapons, there’s three new weapons available: Vanguard is offering a grenade launcher, the Crucible coughs up a sniper rifle, and Gambit comes with a new bow.

Destiny 2 launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2017. Bungie will be revealing full details on the next chapter of the Engram-farming shooter on Thursday, which according to a leak yesterday will see players revisiting the moon in the Shadowkeep expansion.
Bungie now has full creative control over the Destiny IP following its split from Activision earlier this year. Rumours have been gathering pace that Destiny 3 will launch in late 2020, although at this point it’s clear that Bungie has no plans to give up support for Destiny 2 just yet.
