Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris has a PS4-exclusive Crucible map

Bungie announced last night that Curse of Osiris, the first batch of Destiny 2 DLC, will launch in December 2017—but that’s only half the good news.

While the upcoming expansion will offer brand new story missions and gear, the DLC also includes an exclusive PlayStation 4 Crucible map.

This new battleground is set on Titan, specifically the New Pacific Arcology, and is marketed as being available “only on PlayStation 4.”

Presumably this will be a timed-exclusive deal rather than a permanent one, as past Destiny content has been exclusive to Sony platforms for around 12 months. We’ll be sure to keep you informed as we hear more.

In addition to the new storyline centuring on the legendary Warlock Guardian, Curse of Osiris also offers a new Raid content, an extra Patrol area on Mercury, and finally, a new social space — Destiny 1’s Lighthouse.

Bungie confirmed recently that Destiny 2’s first year will be split into various seasons. Each one offers a series of new content, with the first giving the tower a winter makeover in the shape of The Dawning event.

The former Halo developer previously pledged to avoid the content droughts that plagued the original game, and it looks as if they’re onto a solid start with seasonal content.

Destiny 2 was released for PS4 and Xbox One in early September, and hit PC last week. The game’s physical sales were down significantly over its predecessor however, and its player base seems to have dwindled too.

Bungie recently admitted that it is slowly starting to ‘look beyond’ the franchise to its next project. That’s not to say the series is going anywhere yet; the studio has already got ideas in mind for Destiny 3.
