Destiny 2 update 1.1.1.1

The servers for Destiny 2 are being taken down in preparation for the incoming Hotfix 1.1.1.3. The update will include Faction Rallies.

Maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday January 16 starting at 8AM PT.

Destiny 2 servers down for new update

The full update is expected to be completed by 2PM the same day, but previous downtime has proven to be somewhat lengthier than initial estimates.

Below you’ll find the full time frame for the outage.

8:00 AM Pacific1600 UTC
  • Destiny 2 server maintenance is schedule to begin
  • Players will no longer be able to log in to Destiny 2
9:00 AM Pacific1700 UTC
  • Players still in Destiny 2 activities will be returned to the title screen
12:00 PM Pacific2000 UTC
  • Destiny 2 server maintenance is scheduled to end
  • Destiny 2 Hotfix 1.1.1.3 will be available

Bungie to relax microtransactions in Destiny 2

This update will address issues related to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies access (directly related to Bungie previously locking content and activities behind the latest expansion of the game. This update should give back access to these events for all players whether they have the expansion or not.

Faction Rallies will be immediately available after the maintenance period.

Faction Rallies Participation Requirements are as follows:
  • Characters can participate in the Faction Rallies event if they meet the following requirements:
  • Character Level 20
  • Completed the Red War campaign
  • Completed the Faction Rallies Introduction Milestone
  • Pledged to one of the three factions
