Take note Guardians, before you head online to be bitterly disappointed that you cannot connect to the Destiny servers today.
Bungie has announced via Twitter that the servers will be offline for approximately 6 hours starting at 8am PDT (4pm BST).
There are no patch notes, but in its Tweet Bungie simply states “future plans” as the reason behind the maintenance.
Spread the word. Destiny will be offline for maintenance tomorrow, starting at about 8AM PDT. Downtime could last for 6 hours. Future plans!

With the release of Destiny’s next major expansion, “The Taken King,” on the horizon, some players are assuming its preparation for that, but it seems a little early considering the DLC doesn’t launch until September.
We’d expect to hear what Bungie are up to at some point today. We’ll update this article as soon as we find out.
