Destiny: weekly Nightfall reset for November 3, 2015

Destiny’s game world has been reset for another week, bringing with it a fresh set of challenges for Guardians to tackle including a new Nightfall and Court of Oryx Tier 3 boss.

First up is the Nightfall, which for the next seven days will take the form of the Cerberus Vae III mission pitting you against the Cabal overlord, Valus Ta’aurc. Modifiers include Fresh Troops, Specialist, Airborne, and Trickle. The Court of Oryx Tier 3 challenge meanwhile comes in the shape of Thalnok, Fanatic of Crota, which gamers have colloquially dubbed ‘mini-Crota.’

Finally, the Prison of Elders arenas have been reshuffled for another week to include Cult of the Worm and Broken Legion for Level 32 and Level 34, respectively. Destiny will reset its Armsday offerings tomorrow while Xur, Agent of the Nine will show up again in the Tower on Friday morning.

Developed by Bungie, the creator behind the multi-million selling Halo franchise on Xbox formats, Destiny was met with a polarizing reception on its initial release in September 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game was praised for its solid shooting mechanics and compelling multiplayer, though gamers weren’t too impressed with its heavy emphasis on grinding and lacklustre narrative. Bungie released two expansion in the shape of The Dark Below and House of Wolves in December 2014 and May 2015, respectively, which introduced new weapons, missions, gear, and fresh enemies to battle against.

The biggest expansion to date came in the shape of The Taken King, which was released in September. In addition to revamping the levelling system, this expansion also brought with it a new Raid and story missions, plus introduced new Crucible challenges and maps. The Taken King proved a massive success, topping the U.K. All Format Chart upon release and selling the majority of copies on the PS4. More recently, microtransactions were introduced to the shared-world shooter to allow players to purchase new emotes, and from the look of things, it’s proving quite popular among PlayStation gamers. Read our verdict on The Taken King here.
