Destiny will add microtransactions later this month allowing gamers to purchase additional emotes via the newly introduced Eververse Trading Company, developer Bungie has announced.
Those of you interested in grabbing some new emotes will have to purchase a new currency known as Silver, which will be available via Xbox LIVE Marketplace and the PlayStation Store. However, Bungie has confirmed plans to dish out some free Silver to players so they can get an idea of what to expect, allowing you to purchase a free emote or two and get your dance on.
The Eververse Trading Company will be setting up shop on Tuesday, October 13, with images and descriptions for each consumable, plus Silver pricing, also being made available the same day.
"Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year,” said Bungie. “It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests.”
Destiny: The Taken King was released a few weeks ago for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The expansion introduces a wealth of changes to the shared-world shooter, including a new levelling system, where your character’s level and Light Level are two separate entities. The content was well-received, topping the U.K. All Format Charts upon release and selling the majority of copies on the PS4.
In addition to revamping the levelling system, The Taken King also introduces a new Guardian subclass for each character type (Titan, Warlock and Hunter), and implements a brand new Raid.New exotic weapons have also been added, and tweaks have been made to the Nightfall/Heroic Strike playlist.
