It’s Tuesday again, which means Bungie has flicked the reset switch on Destiny’s servers for another week and introduced a new set of challenges for Guardians to tackle. Ready for a new Nightfall and Court of Oryx, Guardians? Read on to find out what you’ll be facing over the next seven days.
First up is the Nightfall, which takes the form of the mission titled ‘The Fallen S.A.B.E.R.’ As always, the recommended Light Level is 280+, so make sure you have your most powerful gear equipped, while modifiers include Arc Burn, Match Game, Catapult and Exposure.
The Court of Oryx meanwhile has been refreshed to include Fanatic of Crota as its Tier 3 boss, so again, make sure you are prepared on the weapons and gear front to dispatch this fearsome opponent.
That’s not all Bungie has planned for this week, however. It’s also releasing update 2.0.1. for players to download, which among other things nerfs those pesky Shotgun kills. This follows on the heels of a smaller patch used to stop mindless spamming of the Titan’s Hammer of Sol technique. In addition, the Eververse Trading Company is opening for business from today, which introduces microtransactions to Bungie’s shared-world shooter, allowing players to buy additional emotes for their character. We’ve been quite impressed with The Taken King, so be sure to read our verdict on the expansion in our full write-up.
Destiny: The Taken King was released on September 15 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The expansion introduces a wealth of changes to the shared-world shooter, including a new levelling system, where your character’s level and Light Level are two separate entities. The content was well-received, topping the U.K. All Format Charts upon release and selling the majority of copies on the PS4. In addition to revamping the levelling system, The Taken King also introduces a new Guardian subclass for each character type (Titan, Warlock and Hunter), and implements a brand new Raid. New exotic weapons have also been added, and tweaks have been made to the Nightfall/Heroic Strike playlist.
