Hermen Hulst, the former Guerrilla Games boss and current head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, has name-dropped God of War Ragnarok as his most anticipated game, and can’t for PS5 users to get their hands on the title.
Hurst revealed his choice during a post on the PlayStation Blog, which detailed the various ‘most anticipated games’ from industry figures.
Playing God of War in 2018 was a great experience for me. That series has always had amazing action and combat, but the emotional depth Santa Monica brought to Kratos’ story as a father was very memorable – especially since my son was only a little bit older than Atreus when I played it.
So to see and hear the reaction to that tiny glimpse we unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase last September was very exciting. I can’t wait for people to see what Santa Monica is making.
God of War Ragnarok is scheduled for release on PS5 in 2021, but a concrete launch date has yet to be announced. Developer Sony Santa Monica Studio recently snapped up some fresh talent via a former sound designer for The Last of Us Part 2.
