According to a report on Bloomberg, Rockstar Games is set to announce the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 soon, possibly as early as this week.
The announcement of GTA 6 will be followed by the first trailer in December, which will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. Publisher Take-Two is set to host its quarterly earnings call later today, which means we may get something as soon as today.
GTA 6 has technically been announced already in the sense that Rockstar Games confirmed last February that it was developing the next entry in the series. Back in September last year, the game suffered a major leak where early footage of GTA 6 appeared online, although Rockstar said that it would not impact the game’s development.
There’s no word yet on when GTA 6 will be released, although according to a CMA document from last November regarding Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, the game is expected to launch in 2024.
However, when discussing its 2025 fiscal year back in August, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick revealed that the publisher is expecting “record levels of operating performance” caused by a “significant inflection point.”
With FY25 taking place between April 2024 and March 2025, it is heavily speculated that the massive source of income forecast during this period is none other than GTA 6, although nothing official has been announced.
