Grand Theft Auto 6 Release Expected For 2024, Reveals Microsoft In CMA Document

Microsoft has revealed in a response to the ongoing CMA investigation into its proposed buyout of Activision Blizzard that it anticipates Rockstar Games to release Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2024.

An excerpt of the document clearly states that the game is expected to launch in 2024:

Take-Two Interactive which publishes Grand Theft Auto V, remains [redacted] many years after its release in 2023, and Red Dead Redemption 2 [redcated]. The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV is expected to be released in 2024.

Both games are considered by major digital storefronts, such as Steam, to have shooter elements. Grand Theft Auto V is also available on PlayStation, whereas Red Dead Redemption is also available on PlayStation and Stadia.

Rockstar Games hasn’t announced anything about a potential release window for GTA 6, although previous reports have pegged the game for a 2025 launch. Regardless, we won’t know for certain until Rockstar decides to be a little more forthcoming with details, which probably won’t happen for a while.

The studio did however assure fans that the recent GTA 6 leak would not affect the game’s development going forward. Rockstar has reportedly spent over two billion dollars on the much-anticipated crime sequel to date.

GTA 6 is currently in development presumably for PC and current-generation systems only, and is without a release date.
