Hideo Kojima talks Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain difficulty

The director behind Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has spoken out on the game’s difficulty setting in comparison to its precursor title, 2014’s Ground Zeroes.

Writing on Twitter, Hideo Kojima, said the following (as translated by DS):

If you felt it was difficult to play Ground Zeroes, I think you’ll be ok with The Phantom Pain. The feeling of operation is intact, but it’s much improved, there’s the Fulton recovery and support and you can also use the buddy. It’s different from Ground Zeroes that was a closed space, where you could not escape.”

I wrote the ‘feeling of the operation is intact,’ in fact based on the feedback from Ground Zeroes, the feeling of the operation of The Phantom Pain is not confusing. It’s been adjusted to make it easier to play.

The Phantom Pain will offer a vast, open-world to explore as Snake infiltrates Afghanistan to seek revenge on those who eliminated his squad in the previous game. The game is due for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 1. Check out the latest trailer here.

Metal Gear Online, its multiplayer-based companion title, will go live in early October. Check out the latest details on The Phantom Pain here and see how the PS4 version compares to the PC release in terms of visuals.
