The Tokyo Game Show 2022 is just around the corner, and one of the publishers lining up a big announcement there will be Konami. The company confirmed it will be introducing a new entry in a franchise that is ‘loved all over the world.’
The “Konami new release announced” is listed as part of a 45-minute show on September 16, and while the mystery title may conjure up hopes of seeing something from Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill, VGC is reporting that it is unlikely related to any of those series.
Voice actor Yuji Kaji will be invited as a guest to represent the fans of a series which is loved all over the world, on the announcement stage for a new Konami title.
VGC sources state that the reveal is very likely for a smaller project rather than one of its major franchises, although right now there’s no clue as to what the game is.
As previously reported, Konami is heavily rumored to be working on resurrecting Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill in some form or another. Silent Hill has been in the rumor mill a lot the past 18 months or so, and it was recently claimed that a Silent Hill 2 Remake is also in the pipeline.
Earlier today, leaker Dusk Golem backed up previous VGC reports that Metal Gear Solid 1-3 are receiving all-new remasters, saying the rumors are ‘100% true.’
