New Metal Gear Solid 1-3 Remasters Rumors Are ‘100% True’ Says Leaker, Coming To PC & Consoles

Rumors of Konami‘s plans to resurrect the Metal Gear Solid franchise have gathered steam again this week, after noted leaker Dusk Golem has chimed in on the original VGC report from a year ago about Metal Gear Solid 1-3 receiving all-new remasters – which he says is ‘100% true.’

While we haven’t heard anything more about Konami’s reported plans to remaster the first three Metal Gear Solid titles for a while (it’s also rumored to be working on fresh entries in the Castlevania and Silent Hill franchises, remember), Dusk Golem reckons they’re on the way.

Here’s what the leaker had to say in a ResetEra thread regarding the Metal Gear Solid remasters:

I said this in the other thread, but can confirm this is 100% true. I will not be surprised if others have heard about it, but also as recently they’ve made agreements to distribution methods and finalizing the games to soon be reviewed by review boards and the like, very likely these get announced relatively soon.

I don’t know their exact marketing plans, I just know developments on distribution has been happening very recently.

It’s also worth remembering at this point that we also heard last year that a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake is in production at Virtuous Studios. Beyond that, Silent Hill is purportedly receiving a bunch of new instalments, including a full remake of 2001’s critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2.

Metal Gear Solid has been in hibernation since 2018’s awful spin-off Metal Gear Survive, and Konami has yet to announce anything regarding the future of the brand.
