A new rumor based off of data files from the Marvel’s Avengers beta suggests that the live service will be getting clone characters that are similar to ones already in the game, with the first two being Kate Bishop and She-Hulk.
A post on Reddit (found by Forbes) reveals that alongside characters like Clint Barton and Iron Man there will also be clone characters added to the game, which presumably would have similar abilities and gameplay mechanics to their core versions. So, Kate Bishop would fundamentally play the same as Hawkeye and She-Hulk would be the same as Hulk, with you getting to opt to play as the female or male version of the hero.
This certainly would be a nice choice, but fans have begun to worry that these clone characters will be used as filler content drops, instead of new characters being released. We don’t know this for sure right now, so we will have to wait for Square Enix to announce something official.
Alongside Hawkeye, Spider-Man will be coming to Marvel’s Avengers next year exclusively for PS4 and PS5 players. You can read our impressions on the beta of the game here which we felt mixed about.
