Insomniac Games has released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update 1.005.001 to specifically address user feedback regarding the Fresh Start Suit in the web-slinging sequel. For those unaware, the outfit feature a number of bugs such as visual inconsistencies with other costumes in the game, and those have now been addressed.
There’s not really any patch notes to speak of, but the official blurb from Insomniac Games X account:
We deployed a new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that includes improvements to the Fresh Start suit based on player feedback. Update v 1.005.001 is live now.
The Fresh Start Suit was released to coincide with the release of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day in cinemas last week, and also included support for PSSR 2.0 and Power Saver Mode.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launched exclusively for PS5 in October 2023 and sees players taking control of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as the superhero duo face off against new threats in New York City, including Venom and Kraven the Hunter. While certain missions lock you into one particular character, players are free to switch between Peter and Miles while free-roaming, taking on side missions and hoovering up collectibles.
Holland recently revealed that the Marvel’s Spider-Man games were a major influence on Brand New Day, specifically the finishing moves that wall-crawler performs. “For me, a lot of those finishing moves, a lot of our stuff was influenced by that stuff,” said Holland.
