The Metal Gear Solid movie still hasn’t really gotten off the ground yet, but Oscar Isaac, who is attached to play Solid Snake in the project, is very keen to make it happen.
Speaking with ComicBook, Isaac described Metal Gear Solid as his “favourite” video game, and made it clear that he’s not giving up on the movie despite nothing having been set in stone yet.
We want it to happen. Be excited. What’s the script? What’s the story? What’s the take? […] But hopeful that comes to fruition because there’s so much potential for that. It’s an incredible game. It’s my favorite.
Deadline reported last year that the Metal Gear Solid film was finally getting somewhere after Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts was attached to helm the project. The director previously shared some art work on the film, giving us an idea of what it could look like.
Back in March this year, Isaac said that moviemakers are ‘searching like Solid Snake’ for the film’s story, and that still seems to be the case.
In related news, Konami is rumored to be working to revive the Metal Gear Solid game franchise, and part of this involves not only a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake, but also remasters of previous series instalments.
