The long-winded journey towards the release date of the PS Vita version of Minecraft is almost over. It will release in Europe on October 15, but there is still no official word on a US date.
The Sony handheld version of the mega-hit crafting adventure had been scheduled to arrive back in August, but was delayed, along with its PS4 sibling, to bring it up to Sony’s certification standard.
Scottish developers 4J Studios, who are handling the port for creators Mojang, took to Twitter to announce the news, also adding:

The Vita version will be cross-save compatible with the PS3 version, giving players the opportunity to take their home console creations on the move.
It will also allow players to upload Vita created worlds to the PS4 edition, but not the other way round.
Microsoft bought Minecraft parent company Mojang for a staggering $2.5 billion last month and were quick to assure fans that Minecraft would continue to be supported on PlayStation platforms.
