Trusted industry insider AestheticGamer has reiterated that Capcom will launch a new Resident Evil game within the next 12 months, stating that the next year will be a pretty ‘crazy’ time for fans of the long-running survival horror franchise.
Capcom To Launch New Resident Evil After RE3 Remake

The next year is going to be a pretty crazy time to be a Resident Evil fan. There’s going to be another Resident Evil game releasing within the next 366 day period outside of RE3, but I’m not talking any further about it until RE3 is out.
While it isn’t known what the game is a this point, we know that it’s not a Resident Evil CODE: Veronica remake, as AestheticGamer also confirmed that Capcom is not working on a revamp of the 2000 Dreamcast title.
There’s a couple of possible candidates as to what the game might be. First off, we could be betting Resident Evil Revelations 3, as we haven’t seen a new entry in that series since 2015.
It’s also possible we could be getting a revamp of Resident Evil Outbreak, although that seems unlikely as we’ve not heard about any new remakes in the series. Still, anything is possible at this point.
As for Resident Evil 8, AestheticGamer has already said that the game is still some way off, and it’s apparently been rebooted a few times already.
Either way, Capcom has already invited members of its Resident Evil Ambassadors initiative to test drive a new game, so something is definitely in the pipeline.
