Nioh 2 Gives The PS4 Another UK Chart Topper

Team Ninja’s Nioh 2 has debuted in first place on the UK All Format Chart, with the PlayStation 4-exclusive action title fending off competition from the ubiquitous Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which leaps into second place.

On the flip side, Microsoft’s Xbox One and PC title Ori and the Will of the Wisps failed to crack the Top 10, entering the charts at no.13. However, with the title available on Xbox Game Pass, that’s bound to have put a dent in sales.

The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty big for gamers, with the likes of DOOM Eternal, Resident Evil 3 remake, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake all scheduled for release on PS4. Despite this, a couple of big titles have been delayed until later in the year, notably Marvel’s Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077.

Looking further ahead, Sony is gearing up for the launch of the PlayStation 5, which is pencilled in for a holiday 2020 release. However, analysts have warned that the outbreak of COVID-19 could result in delays for next-generation formats.

Sony has yet to lift the lid on the PS5, so we still don’t know what the console will look like. On the other hand, Microsoft has been pretty busy revealing new details about the Xbox Series X, so hopefully it won’t be long until we hear more about Sony’s efforts.
