PlayStation Portal is proving to be more popular than we probably all imagined, with the latest restock of the handheld device selling out in just 10 minutes on PlayStation Direct.
Sony’s handheld accessory for the PS5 went on sale earlier this month, and the format holder revealed last week that it wasn’t designed with profitability in mind. Nonetheless, it appears the device is proving incredibly popular despite its $199.99 price tag, as preorders quickly sold out in Japan and scalpers in the west were quick to take advantage of the fact it sold out on PS Direct.
PlayStation Portal allows you to stream games from the PS5 over Wi-Fi using Remote Play, effectively giving you a handheld version of the console. The device boasts an eight-inch LCD HD screen and has all the functions of the DualSense controller, so you don’t lose anything by switching to gaming on the go.
