Sony has the PS5 currently pencilled in for launch this holiday season, which is around the same time Microsoft will unleash the Xbox Series X. Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it’s not expected the system will be delayed unless Microsoft decides to postpone the launch of its own console.

The PS5 will be sold in two variations, one featuring a disc drive and one for digital content only. Sony has yet to announce the PS5 price yet, but a former Microsoft executive believes it won’t cost more than $499.
