PSN maintenance scheduled for Oct. 10

Sony announced this evening that the PlayStation Network will undergo a planned maintenance this Thursday.

Network maintenance generally has a chance to render all online interaction impossible, but the server work coming this week is much more giving. From 1 PM to 2 PM Pacific Time, access to PlayStation features such as the Store, Home, or Account Management will be disabled, but playing games online and using apps are both viable options, so the fan-favorite application Netflix and the highest-selling title in gaming history Grand Theft Auto V will have all of their elements at the ready.

Game on; as is possible, be warned that connectivity issues may appear and access to networks might be limited if maintenance becomes more extensive than originally planned. Sony hasn’t indicated any of this as a possibility, but previous maintenances have been known to become more involved and go longer than expected. Hopefully, this one is as routine as possible.
