Metacritic has posted a listing for Resident Evil 9 on PS5 over the weekend, although we’re still waiting for an official reveal from Capcom regarding the next instalment in the long-running survival horror franchise.
Rumours about Resident Evil 9 have been doing the rounds for a few years now. The only official piece of news we have is that it will be directed by Koshi Nakanishi, who previously helmed Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Beyond that, insider Dusk Golem has been the source of most of the info we’ve heard about Resident Evil 9, stating that it will likely launch at some point in late 2025/early 2026. They previously expected the game to be revealed this summer and launch early next year, but it was hit by a delay.

Back in May, Dusk Golem claimed that Resident Evil 9 will be set on an island in the Southeast Asia sea, which is apparently inspired by Singapore.
Elsewhere, it has been reported that Capcom is working on remakes of both Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero, although again there’s no official confirmation on either project.
