Rumour – Resident Evil Requiem DLC Will Feature Leon Instead Of Alyssa Ashcroft

Capcom as-yet unannounced DLC plans for Resident Evil Requiem will reportedly feature Leon S. Kennedy, rather than Alyssa Ashcroft as previously speculated, according to leaker Dusk Golem.

Speaking on X, Dusk Golem revealed that the DLC was initially planned to plug the gap between Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero remakes, back when Requiem was due to launch in 2025. He also heard about a playable Alyssa existing in development, which didn’t make it to the final version of the game; now, he believes that the plan has shifted to featuring Leon in the DLC.

However, more recently I’ve been hearing a few times in the grapevine now there’s likely a Leon DLC. I do not know the scope of RE9’s DLC outside of it existing, but I can take some educated guesses. Nakanishi said there would be stuff to keep people playing RE9 long after the main story was complete.

Dusk Golem also revealed that there were a number of segments cut from Leon’s portion of Resident Evil Requiem, and he speculates that some of this could be repurposed as DLC. Interestingly, one of the scrapped areas was from the Raccoon City portion of the game, says Dusk, which would have allowed the player to drive freely in a large environment.

Capcom hasn’t announced anything about Resident Evil Requiem DLC yet, but as Golem noted elsewhere, every entry in the series from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard onwards (with the exception of RE3 Remake) has received some form of post-launch content.

Resident Evil Requiem is now available for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S, and Capcom announced today that the game has sold over five million units worldwide. You can have a butcher’s at our full verdict here.
