John McKellan, writer and director at developer Screen Burn Interactive, has revealed that Silent Hill Townfall will feature five endings in total, including two hidden endings for players to unearth.
Speaking during a media preview attended by One More Game, McKellan revealed that the upcoming psychological horror title will follow a tradition set by previous entries in the series, which were noted for having multiple endings.
“Silent Hill: Townfall features 5 endings, including the types of secret endings that players have come to love and expect. There are 3 main endings to the story and 2 secret endings,” said McKellan. However, he noted that “there’s no point in the game where you’re choosing left or right in order to get a new ending.”
“The 3 main endings can be achieved in your first play-through. You don’t need to play to get one ending and then unlock the others,” he added.
The ending you get will depend on how you play, how aggressive you are, how investigative you are. There are lots of different attributes that move the needle, so much so that when you get that ending, you feel like it’s the right one for you and not just a left turn at the end of a story and a sudden twist. We hope that people feel that it’s the natural conclusion, but also that they want to learn more and want to think about it.
Silent Hill Townfall is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026 for PS5 and PC. Publisher Konami recently confirmed that the game will form part of its lineup at Gamescom in late August.
