Due to many factors (high demand, scalpers/bots, and COVID-19), buying the PlayStation 5 has been very difficult ever since pre-orders opened up. But there’s a little bit of hope for the rest of the year. Sony announced in a tweet that more PS5 consoles will be arriving at retailers before the end of 2020.
“We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever,” the official PlayStation account tweeted. “Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year – please stay in touch with your local retailers.”
The same message was tweeted shortly later by the PlayStation UK Twitter account.
Additionally, the PlayStation Europe Twitter account has retweeted the first tweet by the @PlayStation account.

According to VGChartz, the PS5 sold an estimated 2.1 to 2.5 million units globally from its launches on November 12 and November 19.
