Street Fighter 5 launch trailer ushers in a ‘new era’ for Capcom’s fighting series

Capcom has unleashed the official Street Fighter V launch trailer to coincide with the much-anticipated fighting game sequel’s release on PlayStation 4 and PC today.

Check it out below.

Street Fighter V will remain a console exclusive to the PS4, with series boss Yoshinori Ono making it clear that the game won’t arrive on any other format. In fact, he’s suggested that Xbox One owners save up for a PS4 if they want a piece of the action.

It’s also clear that Capcom will be supporting the game for a while, with Ono-san previously commenting he has a five-year plan in mind, while Capcom said last week that it hopes the game will last a whole console generation.

Street Fighter V launches with 16 characters with more to be added throughout 2016. Capcom has also confirmed that it will release a free story expansion this summer. Read our review-in-progress article on Street Fighter V to see what we think of the game so far.
