Sony and Naughty Dog have confirmed that The Last of Us: Part 2 will be available in five different versions: Standard, Digital, Special, Collector’s, and Ellie Edition. In addition, Twitter user Wario64 has discovered in a listing for one of these editions that the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive sequel will ship on two Blu-ray discs.
The Last Of Us: Part 2 Special Editions Detailed
First up, the Standard Edition of The Last of Us: Part 2 includes the game as you’d expect, but you can also pre-order for an ammo capacity upgrade and crafting training manual. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds a PS4 dynamic theme, six PSN avatars, digital soundtrack, digital mini art book, as well as the above pre-order bonuses.
Shifting up a gear, The Last of Us: Part 2 Special Edition throws in a copy of the game with a steenbok case, a mini art book, PS4 dynamic theme, and six PSN avatars. Again, if you pre-order, you’ll get your hands on the ammo and crafting bonuses.
Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic sequel features a 12” statue of Ellie, a replica of her bracelet, a custom Steenbok case, a 48-page mini art book, six enamel pins, lithograph art print, and five stickers. You’ll also get a voucher for digital bonus content.
Finally, The Last of Us: Part Ellie Edition includes everything above plus a fully-functional Ellie backpack, an embroidered patch, and a 7” vinyl record featuring music from the game’s soundtrack.
Note that it appears the Ellie Edition is only for the US market, as it doesn’t appear on the EU PS Blog.
Sony announced during its State of Play event today that The Last of Us: Part 2 will be released exclusively for the PS4 on February 21, 2020. We also got a new trailer that finally gave us a proper look at Joel for the highly anticipated sequel, who will be joining the 19-year-old Ellie as she embarks on a deadly mission.
