The Last of Us Part 2 will release on Friday, February 28, 2020.
The confirmation of the release date comes from German retailer Softridge, as you can see below:
As alluded to above, Sony is currently due to unveil The Last of Us Part 2 properly at its State of Play event next week, alongside announcements and reveals of other games.
Not really seen in any sort of capacity since its unveiling back at E3 2018, next week’s event will provide the first proper look at the game since that time; hopefully showcasing some additional gameplay and story elements to boot, too.
As such, it also seems likely that Sony would have used the State of Play event next week to not only show off the gameplay, but also confirm The Last of Us Part 2 release date as well.
You’ll remember too, that murmurings of a Februrary 28, 2020 for The Last of Us Part 2 release date have been around for a little while now, too. As far back as July this year, not only was that release date rumored but so too were a number of a different special and collectors editions for the game.
Once September’s State of Play is done and dusted, the next time that we’ll catch an extended glimpse of The Last of Us Part 2 will be at Madrid Games Week, where Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated sequel is tipped to feature heavily.
What do you guys think of the The Last of Us Part 2 release date – is February 28, 2020 doable for you? Or, do you think that the date is too soon considering the games out at that time in Watch Dogs Legion, Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy 7: Remake? Let us know in the comments!
