Naughty Dog has revealed details on new human and infected types of enemies that you will be facing in The Last of Us Part 2.

Chiefly, there will be two warring factions contained within the streets of Seattle. One is the Washington Liberation Front, which began as a resistance to military presence in the city, while the other is known as the Seraphites, which are a religious group.

The latter are particularly brutal, and are seen in the footage attempting to pin down a survivor and smashing their limbs in with a hammer, otherwise known as ‘clipping their wings.’ Ouch.

On the Infected front, there’s all the usual suspects you would expect, but they’ve also been fleshed out. For starters, Runners are more aggressive than before, and there’s the new Shamblers to deal with, which attack with exploding spore clouds that burn their victims.

Meanwhile, the previously-confirmed guard dogs will be able to pick up Ellie’s scent allowing them to easily track you. Stealth has been enhanced too, allowing you to enter crawl spaces to re-activate stealth mechanics.

The Last Of Us Part 2’s State of Play was announced earlier this week. It is likely to be the final PS4-focused State of Play. With the PS5 reveal event all but confirmed to arrive next week, Sony will place all their focus on their next-generation console from here on out.

Naughty Dog will be producing a podcast in the future offering a behind the scenes look at the making of both titles. The game has also been banned in the Middle East after the game was not made available on the PlayStation Store.

The Last of Us Part 2 releases for PS4 on June 19.
