The Last of Us Part 2 reportedly makes the PS4 Pro sound louder than an air condition unit according to a Washington Post journalist.
In a tweet talking about a small section of the game that was responding to a reader’s question, he said that:
“I have a first model PS4 Pro. Vents are clean. During The Last of Us 2, the fans are louder than my air-conditioning unit. They were so loud I had to raise the volume up on my speakers. Even when I knocked it down to 1080p mode.”
This doesn’t seem too surprising as the PS4’s poor cooling and jet-engine sounding fan has been an issue for the last few years as games have become more intensive on the hardware. However, it does make us wonder what the game does to the original PS4, especially a model from 2013.
The Last of Us Part 2’s review embargo will lift on June 12, and you can expect our thoughts on the PS4 exclusive then. Sony’s Jim Ryan recently confirmed that the game will be supported on PS5 this Fall and that it will run without any issues. Earlier today it was revealed that the game will feature a whopping 60 accessibility options for you to change and customise.
The Last of Us Part 2 releases on June 19.
