Spider-Man release date not coming anytime soon

Insomniac Games has indicated that a release date for its hotly anticipated Spider-Man title on PlayStation 4 will not be confirmed for a while yet.

Writing on Twitter in response to a fan regarding when the game will be out, the studio replied, “All we said was there was no release date. Likely not going to announce one anytime soon.”

Retailer GameStop has the game listed for a December 2017 release, although this is almost certainly a placeholder.

Spider-Man was announced during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference as a PS4-exclusive, and has been in the works for over a year now. The game will feature a massive open-world to explore as gamers embark on crime-fighting duties as more experienced Peter Parker.

Insomniac Games’ debut trailer impressed with its dazzling visuals, which were made all the more impressive considering it was running in real-time on the PS4.
