Video: Naughty Dog slip off the tongue appears to confirm The Last of Us 2

After the huge success of Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us, it will come as no surprise at all if and when The Last of Us 2 is announced, but this latest slip up comes from non-other than Naughty Dog itself, and some of the guys who worked on the PlayStation 4 exclusive action adventure.

In a live Twitch stream focusing on the greatest Uncharted Moments, Eric Monacelli (Community Strategist), Josh Scherr (Writer), and Eric Baldwin (Lead Animator) were deep in conversation about the Uncharted series when a slip off the tongue caused Baldwin to accidentally refer to The Last Of Us as the “first The Last of Us Game.”

Maybe he just got confused?

Though this certainly doesn’t 100 percent confirm that The Last of Us 2 is in development, it’s the way he back-tracks and gets himself into even more of a pickle that makes us believe that he has indeed put his foot in it and indirectly revealed that the second iteration is on its way.

It’s not the first hint that a sequel is on its way after voice actor Nolan North seemingly confirmed The Last Of Us 2 in an interview earlier this year, when he said: “For now, the last one. I know they’re doing The Last of Us 2, but my character in The Last of Us had an untimely demise.”

A former Naughty Dog developer also appeared to leak the game on his LinkedIn profile.

Naughty Dog has previously mentioned that it’s been having internal discussions about a sequel but earlier this year said that its full focus is on the development of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which is set for release on PS4 on March 18, 2016.
