BioWare is gearing up for the annual N7 Day celebrations on November 7, which marks the launch of the original Mass Effect for Xbox 360 and PC eight years ago. Sadly, it doesn’t sound like we won’t be getting any fresh information on the hotly anticipated fourth instalment in the series, Mass Effect Andromeda.
There’s still plenty of reasons to get excited about N7 Day, though. BioWare is hosting a charity stream at 9.00 pm PST on Saturday if you fancy tuning in. The more creative fans among you can also share your thoughts and creations on Mass Effect using the hashtag N7Day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition, the BioWare Blog will be giving away some N7 profile images for you to grab.
If that wasn’t enough, the BioWare Store will be hosting a discount for all things Mass Effect everyday this week, starting with a onesie today and a pair of sneakers tomorrow. But what of some juicy Andromeda information that we’ve all been craving for? Well, here’s the official word on the matter:
“While we won’t have any major announcements for Mass Effect: Andromeda this N7 Day, keep an eye out on Saturday for some surprises that we’re sure you’ll enjoy,” said BioWare.
Mass Effect Andromeda is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in holiday 2016. The game has been confirmed to take place after the events of the original trilogy, although BioWare has already said that we shouldn’t expect any familiar faces to appear, including Commander Shepard. While the game is still some way off from release, the developers have teased that Andromeda is set to be the ‘best and largest‘ instalment in the franchise to date, and will incorporate dynamic weather effects for the first time in the series. While nothing has been confirmed, it has also been hinted that Andromeda will feature some form of online component.
More recently, it has been suggested that we won’t see a high-definition remaster of the original trilogy for PS4 and Xbox One, with more info on Andromeda due to be unveiled at some point this winter. While we’re on the subject of graphics, BioWare has said that the current build of the game is already looking better than the trailer showcased at E3 2015. The team is also hiring for more staff to assist in the creation of AI behavioural patterns and controller input.
