Electronic Arts has fully detailed what to expect from its Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass, which will retail for $49.99/£39.99.
The publishing powerhouse has already confirmed that the Season Pass will include four expansion packs, early access to new content, and the exclusive Shoot First emote.
However, EA has now revealed that gamers can look forward to an additional four Heroes and Villains, although their identities are being kept firmly under wraps at present. It that wasn’t enough, the Season Pass will include four new game modes, 16 fresh multiplayer maps, and "over 20 new pieces of galactic tech including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials."
Furthermore, Season Pass holders will also be able to access each expansion pack a fortnight earlier than anyone else. With that in mind, hopefully you’ll be able to decide whether or not the Season Pass is worth your hard-earned cash.
Star Wars Battlefront is due out on PS4, PC, and Xbox One in the U.S. tomorrow and hits Europe on Friday. The game has been confirmed to run at a stable 60fps on Sony’s home console, while the resolution is believed to clock in at 900p. Those of you who have pre-ordered the sci-fi shooter will be able to pre-load the game now ahead of the game’s North American release tomorrow. Be sure to have a gander at the full list of weapons and details on Battlefront’s Star Cards and have a look at the live action trailer. Finally, if you’re looking to complement your Star Wars gaming sessions on PS4, then this Darth Vader DualShock 4 might be just the ticket
Battlefront is seen as a reboot of sorts of the popular science-fiction shooter franchise, which garnered huge popularity during the PS2 era. However, unlike previous games, the game won’t include a single-player campaign, instead focusing on large-scale multiplayer battles across iconic planets such as Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, and Sullust. The game can be played from a first-person or third-person perspective, although reports from the beta suggest that the former is preferable.
Players take on the role of either the Rebels or the Empire as they go head-to-head in heated firefights, where you’ll be taking down massive walkers, securing drop pods, and even stepping into the legendary boots of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, and many more of Star Wars’ iconic characters.
