In today’s State of Play, Naughty Dog showcased an extended demo of The Last Of Us Part 2. And, early on in that demo, we got to see Ellie ambush an enemy who is playing Hotline Miami on the PlayStation Vita, at least she is until Ellie stabs her in the throat.
The sequence happens from 12:45 in the video below and you can see the NPC holding the PS Vita. But, if you listen closely you can also hear the Hotline Miami music coming through her headphones. This isn’t the biggest news of the show, but it is nice to know that the Vita lives on in some people’s hearts, especially Naughty Dog’s!
The Hotline Miami Twitter account seemed to be very happy with the publicity.

The Last Of Us Part 2’s State of Play was announced earlier this week and is likely to be the last PS4-focused State of Play from Sony. With the PS5 reveal event likely to arrive in early June, we should expect Sony to focus almost entirely on their next-generation console from the end of May onwards.
The Last Of Us Part 2 releases for PS4 on June 19.
