New Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Multiplayer Details Confirm Factions

Infinity Ward has dropped off a fresh batch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare Multiplayer details via the game’s subreddit, confirming the game will support a factions system. Joel Emslie, the game’s art director, revealed that in addition to the two main factions present, each one will be complemented by sub-factions.

According to the post, the factions systems in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer will feature “a lot of cool depth and lore” sprinkled throughout the action.

Those are the Super Factions. East and Western parts of the globe. Needed two opposing forces to hang over everything. This allows us to have Sub-faction Squads under each super. Sub-Factions can be specific traditional squads or special forces multinationals like a task force. For example in reality Seal squads might add a PJ for a medic or an Air Force member for comms or airstrikes. I’m over simplifying but I think you can get an idea of how the structure we are going with gives us freedom while keeping things as realistic as possible. We will go into detail later. Theres a lot of cool depth and lore in our Operator Teams.

Infinity Ward recently revealed a new multiplayer mode called Gunfight, with full details on the game’s online component dropping next month.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 25. The game is a full reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series, and takes place across various contemporary battlegrounds with a strong emphasis on narrative and strategic-based moral choices.

In addition, Modern Warfare will include cross-play for the first time in the series’ history, and will not feature the traditional Season Pass model.

Players who pre-order the first-person shooter can unlock Classic Captain Price in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode.
