Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 servers will be pulled offline later today for maintenance. The Destiny 2 servers are down for approximately five hours.
The shared-world shooter will be brought offline for approximately four hours, beginning 7.00am PST/10.00am EST/3.00pm BST. At this point, you won’t be able to log in to play the game, while those already playing Destiny 2 will be booted offline an hour later.
Destiny 2 server maintenance will wrap up at 11.00am/2.00pm EST/7.00pm BST, after which you’ll be able to jump straight back into the action.
Destiny 2 was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, and arrives on PC later next month.
The game didn’t have the smoothest start, with numerous bugs and issues plaguing the launch window. In addition, Bungie was forced to apologise for and remove a controversial armor design in the game, which resembled an Internet hate group.
Destiny 2 failed to match launch sales of its predecessor, although it still topped the U.K. All Format Chart and drummed up the biggest Day One sales ever on the PlayStation Store for digital copies moved.
Last Friday saw the first time that the exotic vendor, Xur, Agent of the Nine, visited Guardians after making the transition from the original Destiny. Looking ahead, Bungie also plans on rolling out the first Destiny 2 Iron Banner event in October.
